Silcoates is a successful independent co-educational day school with a long and proud history. We achieve excellent academic results and offer a broad and stimulating variety of co-curricular activities. We are looking for a talented and dynamic individual to lead our Sports provision, in the challenging and rewarding role of Director of Sport.

Silcoates is set in 52 acres of grounds in Wrenthorpe, near Wakefield, within easy reach of the M1 and M62, offering an all-through, fully co-educational day school experience for children from 3 to 18. Sport is an important part of our school, with excellent facilities and numerous opportunities for our pupils to get involved both on a regular basis and for specific teams and fixtures.

The role is a key part of our vision for the future of Silcoates and you should be a flexible and determined individual, able to lead and deliver change and adapt to a range of roles and requirements. Knowledge of a variety of roles and schools would be an advantage. 

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a commitment to developing both sporting excellence and accessibility to sport for all and be able to show that they have had responsibility for whole school initiatives in the past. They must be able to demonstrate that they are an effective and experienced leader, who can help to promote and drive high standards of practice both on the sports field and in the classroom. This is a wide-ranging role encompassing all areas of sporting life and it is essential that the post holder is a strategic thinker, capable of winning the respect of the pupils, staff and parents.
