Are you a recognised leader in education with a specialism and proven track record in teacher development and pedagogical research? Would you be interested in developing your career by joining one of the largest and most interesting post-16 education providers in the country?    If so, we are looking for the right leader to take teacher development to the next level through research and innovative application in the class-room.    


The Derby College Group (DCG) operates out of four colleges across Derby and Derbyshire and has a turnover of around GBP 48m.  DCG is one of England's largest groups and is accountable for the education and training of more than 20,000 students.  These include 14 to 16-year-old students who attend vocational and technical courses, full time students aged 16 - 19 on a wide range of A level, vocational and technical programmes, higher education students, mature and part time students, apprentices, work-based students and those want to learn for leisure.  DCG works in partnership with around 3,000 employers.    


As well as relevant experience, you will be either PGCE or PGCCE qualified with experience of teaching excellence, preferable in GSCE English, maths or A 'levels and proven track record of educating new and existing teachers.  Focussed on excellent outcomes, using research in education to that end, you will have a true passion for making a difference through outstanding pedagogy and the ability to inspire, motivate and develop others.

Derby College is a large general further education college with four sites in or near the city of Derby. It supports around 26,000 learners, who choose from more than 1,000 full-time and part-time apprenticeship, A-level, BTEC and NVQ courses.   

Derby College was established as a single institution in 2002 by merging three further education colleges: Mackworth Tertiary College, Wilmorton Tertiary College and Broomfield Agricultural College. A merger between South East Derbyshire College and Derby College was approved in 2010. Heavy investment has been made by the college in its teaching and learning facilities, from the fully equipped teaching kitchens at the Roundhouse campus to the high-tech science labs at the Joseph Wright Centre and the Equestrian Centre at the Broomfield Hall campus.
