About Greenacres Primary School & Early Years' Centre

Welcome to our School's profile. Greenacres School forms part of the Maritime Academy Trust, a multi-academy trust that is committed to making sure that education is meaningful.

Our Trust is made up of 11 primary schools located in Greenwich, Bexley and Kent. Though our schools may be different with their own in-school culture and community spirit, they all work harmoniously and collaboratively together within a curriculum that ensures each and every child is being equipped with leadership and life skills. At Maritime, we do this by empowering schools to drive more meaningful and enjoyable outcomes for children by having great people working for us, who commit to working hard to make an impact whatever the school and whatever the role.

At Greenacres, we pride ourselves on being a friendly, inclusive school with a positive ethos towards children, parents, carers and staff - our team. We believe that, together, we will succeed.

We have the highest of expectations of achievement and behaviour for all. Children enter the school at different starting points and, through supporting, developing and educating the whole child, they make good progress and leave ready for the next stage in their learning.

We are always seeking innovative ways of engaging children in learning experiences that motivate and entice them to deepen their understanding and develop a lifelong love of learning. Our curriculum is thematic in approach engaging children, enabling knowledge acquisition whilst balanced with life and functional skills which span beyond the curriculum  preparing our children for the next stage of their education. The 6Cs underpin everything we do: collaboration, communication, citizenship, character, critical thinking and creativity as we believe these are the attributes which will lead our children to longer term success. We embrace cognitive strategies which have been carefully adopted to enable our children to become self-regulated learners.  We believe our role is to instil confidence in all; ensuring the creation of 21st Century learners.

We have a strong set of values. Our core values of unity, respect, acceptance, freedom and aspiration are at the heart of ‘Team Greenacres’ and are central to our curriculum.  We want our values and love of learning to prepare children for society and later life.

The success of our curriculum approach, which interconnects subjects to support elaboration and deep learning through identified concepts entwined with a core set of values can be seen in the enjoyment on the children’s faces, in their outcomes and through the dedication of staff and the relationships we foster.

So, if you are looking for a place to apply your knowledge and develop your skill set in a friendly and energised environment, then Maritime may be the place for you. All we ask for is a commitment to continue to learn and the flexibility to try new things as we strive to ensure that every single child receives a phenomenal education.
