Job overview

We are looking to appoint a proactive DT Technician with specific responsibilities for the Resistant Materials, Graphic Products & Art Technology areas.  The Technician’s role is a pivotal role in maintaining high standards of safety in classrooms and workshops.  

The role will be to support the work of the DT and Art teachers and achievements of students using innovative approaches, supporting and resources lessons, with an emphasis on safe practice and sustaining the high standards of practical work in the faculty.  

The successful applicant will:

• Have experience of working as a technician within an educational setting 

• Have good organisational skills 

• Be able to prioritise well and work proactively 

• Be computer literate and able to use email, Microsoft and other computer software 

• Have a professional manner 

• Have good literacy and numeracy skills

St. Augustine’s Federated schools consists of primary and secondary voluntary aided Church of England schools, located in a diverse multi ethnic, inner city community situated in Maida Vale / Kilburn close to the heart of London.

Our comprehensive secondary school’s results have improved significantly over the last few years and Key Stage 3 results are now above the national average. The number of students achieving 5+ A*-C has increased significantly and the school achieved record results in 2006 and 2007.
