Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong seeks an outstanding and inspirational educator to join the DUCKS – Dulwich College Kindergarten. This is an outstanding opportunity to make a contribution in one of Asia’s most successful and well known international schools.

Dulwich College Shanghai has 1620 students aged 2–18 and offers the English Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, the English National Curriculum, International GCSEs and the IB Diploma with outstanding results. In 2017, our students achieved an IBDP average of 37.5 and an IGCSE A* / A average of 74.0%.

Initial Interviews will take place by skype.

Teach P.E./Games to DUCKS aged children inclusive, with specific responsibility for Toddlers and Reception.

  • Organize and oversee sporting events in liaison the Head of Primary PE
  • Liaise with the Head of Primary PE, Director of Sport, the administrative staff and calendar committee re. dates and times of events
  • Ensure open lines of communication with the class teachers and DLT assess children’s learning and keep records of their progress
  • Report to parents in accordance with policy.
  • Identify talented/able students and provide activities/opportunities to stretch ability.
  • Identify students with specific learning difficulties in PE liaising with the Head of the DUCKS, and other Department members to ensure appropriate support and intervention is implemented.
  • Liaise with class teachers and the Head of the DUCKS
  • Develop the professional understanding and confidence of Teaching Assistants to ensure best practice in teaching and learning
  • Facilitate professional development opportunities (in house and external) for Teaching Assistants.
  • Develop the effectiveness and impact of collaborative approaches to teaching with Teaching Assistants.
  • Ensure that every child has equal access to the curriculum
  • Liaise closely with Head of Primary PE and DLT in programming appropriate CCA activities to ensure that good provision is made for movement activities in DUCKs
  • Keep up-to-date with current and global trends in Fundamental Movement programmes and development in DUCKs pedagogy, and current Physical Literacy initiatives.
  • Promote sport and healthy lifestyles throughout the school, specifically within toddlers and reception children
  • Ensure that PE resources and equipment are catalogued; fit for purpose; and well maintained
  • Conduct regular safety check on equipment reporting to the Head of Primary PE as necessary
  • Take responsibility, with all members of the DUCKS teaching staff, for the general health, welfare of children, and safeguard their interests at all times.
  • Undertake generic duties as designated by the DUCKS leadership team

School Heritage

Welcome to Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong.

Our school is located within the leafy, vibrant Jinqiao area of East Shanghai with a thriving and diverse community. The first school in the Dulwich College International family of schools, we opened in 2003 with just 23 students. The College now educates approximately 1600 students from age 2 to age 18, with over forty different nationalities represented in our diverse student body.

Whilst have built a strong reputation for academic excellence, with our students achieving IB results well above the global average year on year, this is not at the expense of student wellbeing. Our school has a pastoral support team for students at all levels, and all of them follow a Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) course appropriate to their age and coordinated across the year groups. The relationships they form with their peers and with their teachers are critical for their education and for creating a safe learning environment for their growth.
