EAL Teacher with a possible Head of English Dept role

Compass Primary School is a growing school for pupils from Grades 1-5.

The school is in the beautiful, green setting of Prague 4 - Kunratice and follows the Czech National Curriculum alongside a broad English programme. We are a small, homely familial community with a maximum capacity of 80 students and with classes consisting of up to 16 students. Our pupils and teachers have friendly relationships and together with parents work in partnership to create a happy school. We strive to motivate our pupils towards life-long learning and focus not only on their studies but their social, physical and emotional growth too.

We are currently seeking an outstanding teacher for an immediate start, to join our team, with the possibility to then lead the team as Head of English Department, commencing Sept 2018. The suitable candidate will be enthusiastic, hardworking and a dedicated English teacher, with the potential to lead and further develop an already successful English department. Requirements:

• minimum CELTA + 2-3 years’ experience as a primary/ EAL teacher
• high level passionate classroom practitioner with a wide range and knowledge of teaching skills and methodology
• experience in preparing students for Cambridge Young Learner Exams (Starters, Movers, Flyers, KEY for schools)
• a keen interest in teaching art, music, maths and science
• committed to taking part in extracurricular school activities
• committed to long term cooperation (minimum 2 years)

Highly Desirable:

• experience in leading/ mentoring a team of teachers
• high level of inter-personal skills enabling effective team leadership and communication with staff and parents alike
• ability to evaluate the work of others and enable their development through consultation, coaching and support
