Are you considering Early Career Teacher (ECT) Professional Development Opportunities?

The Academies Enterprise Trust are looking for Early Careers Teachers to join our talent pool. By signing up you will have access to any opportunities that are available in London, Essex, South West, West Midlands & North. You will only need to sign up once and we will manage the rest of the process for you.

As one of the largest trusts, with 57 academies across all phases and settings, AET are able to offer a rich contextualised experience to all ECTs, along with opportunities to build a professional learning network like no other.

As part of our ECT Development Programme, we offer:

1. Individuality and collaboration

All AET schools are unique, we have Primary, Secondary, all through and Special schools. As a result of this we offer subject-specific and phase-specific support, designed with the PTI (Prince’s Teaching Institute) and subject matter experts.

2. Flexibility

All ECTs will have access to online Learner Management Systems for the ECF programme but also a wider set of skills and knowledge -currently over 450 courses are available across a wide range of subjects, in addition to the ECF.

3. Support from a trained mentor

At AET, we acknowledge the importance of ECTs having a trained mentor to support them throughout their Early Career Framework (ECF) two-year development programme. All mentors are provided with a high quality development programme of their own based on an Instructional Coaching model to best support their ECTs.

4. Subject Specialist

The AET teachers and leaders who will support you are experts in their field and subject and we combine this with research-led professional learning.

5. Support from Teach First

AET are proud to acknowledge the relationship we have built with Teach First. We connect our ECT’s and Mentors to Teach First’s network of thousands of schools, teachers, and leaders.

As a Delivery Partner with one of the 6 DfE selected lead providers, AET work with their lead provider, Teach First to provide alignment to the trust’s values.

In year 1 of the programme, ECTs will deepen their understanding of teaching and learning, building on their training year – and along with the support of their mentor and the AET ECF development team will effectively embed this enhanced knowledge in their practice.

In year 2, ECTs will gain valuable experience beyond their own classrooms and will experience the  curriculum expertise and progression pathways which include the new National Professional Qualifications for leadership.

Closing Date: 8 August 2022

AET was established in 2008 and is now a national network of 57 primary, secondary and special academies. We are proud of our diverse and inclusive network of schools which span nearly every region in the country.

This is a hugely exciting time to be joining the organisation, and as we pivot from being in turnaround mode to becoming a high performance organisation on the pathway to sustainable excellence. Our people are our single greatest resource and we want to make sure we are creating the optimum environment and conditions so that everyone in AET can do their very best work. We will only deliver on our promise of excellence for all of our children if we attract, develop and retain the very best talent in the country and surround them with exceptional development throughout their careers.

We want people on our team who are excited by scale and the prospect of having a deep and lasting impact on the lives of tens of thousands of children. We also want people who are intellectually rigorous, stay curious, and generous enough to be committed to the messy challenge of collaboration.

AET has an exciting future ahead and by joining us on this journey, you will have an unparalleled opportunity to make a lasting and meaningful impact on the children and young people in our schools.
