Contract: Permanent

Location: Islington, London N7

Hornsey Road Children’s Centre are currently recruiting Early Years Practitioners to join their experienced team of practitioners.

The Children’s Centre provides early year’s education and childcare to a total of 48 children daily, Monday – Friday, within extended hours, 8am – 6pm. In our care of babies, under twos, and 3-4 year olds we work with the London Borough of Islington as part of the local Bright Start offer to ensure we provide all our children with the best start in life, and promote the importance of early year’s education. Our partnership with all parents and families is greatly valued in achieving this aim.

You would be joining an experienced team and gaining committed and supportive colleagues. You have the potential to gain experience of working with different aged children, and those with additional educational and support needs, as we assess, plan, and respond to the presenting needs of all the children from our local community. You will need a childcare qualification (Level 3), and be able to demonstrate understanding of child development, early help and safeguarding, and Special Educational Needs. You will need IT confidence and capability to meet the requirements of the role. In return, you will be supported in your further professional development and access to training provided by London Borough of Islington.

Our organisation, Manor Gardens Welfare Trust (MGWT) is a charity with an excellent history of supporting people, including families and children, to improve their health and wellbeing. We operate predominantly across five London boroughs, and are based in Islington. We work with local communities to empower people in improving their lives, and ensure all children have the best start in life. We deliver Early Years education in two nursery settings in Islington; Manor Gardens Nursery and Hornsey Road Children’s Centre. The Centre has recently achieved the Healthy Early Years Gold Award, and both our settings are rated ‘good’ by Ofsted.
