The person appointed will be an enthusiastic and imaginative teacher/practitioner who has considerable experience with children in the EYFS, a thorough knowledge of EYFS curriculum, and experience of managing a team of staff.
The successful applicant will lead a small team of early years practitioners who together create a very special learning environment, striving for high levels of achievement whilst ensuring a happy, nurturing and beautiful environment.
Annan School is a small independent primary school set in a beautiful rural location and offers a unique education for 2-11-year olds based on Froebelian principles. We place great importance on active learning, real life experiences and purposeful learning with child-led learning and play at the heart of our early years provision. Outdoor learning and Forest School are also core elements of our curriculum.
The early years department is respected nationally for its ethos and the person appointed needs to be able to lead the pedagogy successfully and develop the provision going forward. A Certificate in Froebelian practice would be an advantage and a willingness to train in and support child-led Froebelian pedagogy is essential.
