To lead the implementation of the Catholic Education Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn’s ‘Learning Agenda’ resulting in national recognition as a Catholic education system with rapidly improving student outcomes and excellent, well-supported teachers in every classroom.

About you

Known as an expert in your profession, you will hold national knowledge of pedagogy and curriculum practices with the ability to determine best fit solutions and instructional strategies to affect a high performance, faith-based education system. To ensure your success, you will have applied system level leadership expertise within an education environment and demonstrate an evidence-based approach to learning practices. You will possess the ability to translate data and complex information into valued advice, linking to and underpinning organisational objectives and aligning to recognised education sector benchmarks.

Essential Criteria

  • Be a practising Catholic and support the mission of the Catholic Church expressed through Catholic Education
  • Qualifications in Education, with proven education leadership experience
  • Have led the design, development, implementation and measurement of educational improvement including digital initiatives, across a variety of learning environments, including remote situations, which have resulted in improved academic performance at a school or system level
  • Have led the delivery of capability building initiatives in curriculum and pedagogy which result in measurable improvement in student learning
  • Strong demonstrated experience in evidence-based educational practice including the science of learning
  • A demonstrated commitment to solve tangible problems in a concrete and systematic way
  • Be knowledgeable and grounded in pedagogy and curriculum which is both evidence-based and rigorous
  • Demonstrated experience in leading system learning by supporting Principals and Teachers to use data to make informed decisions on pedagogy, instructional strategies and assessment to engage all students in learning.
