River Learning Trust

Salary range: RLT Gr 14 (£46,845 - £49,860) or Gr 15 (£50,884 - £53,936)  Dependent on Experience

Based in Kidlington, North Oxford (OX5 2NT)

Come and be a part of our growing, committed and successful Central Team supporting schools in the River Learning Trust (RLT).

We are looking for a motivated and highly effective Educational Psychologist to promote the educational, emotional and personal development of children and young people through the delivery of an effective educational psychology service in RLT schools. This role will require the postholder(s) to work across all RLT schools to give advice and guidance on assessment and interventions for vulnerable pupils, including those with a special educational need or disability.

This is a new role within the central team supporting schools across our Trust to provide the best possible outcomes for all pupils and the postholder will work closely with our new Lead for Inclusion. This busy, varied and interesting role will suit someone who understands the needs of schools, children and young people, parents and carers and support service agencies in developing a coherent and responsive EP service and who has a significant knowledge of the educational context and relevant legislation. There will also be opportunities for agreed research projects to support the development of excellent inclusive practice across the Trust.

We are looking to appoint to the equivalent of a full-time post, but recognise the benefits of flexible working and would consider making multiple part-time appointments, and would consider a mixture of experienced candidates, and those more recently qualified. If you wish to be considered as a part time candidate, please mark this clearly within the personal statement of your application.

Please note that this role is paid on the RLT scale equivalent to the ‘Green Book’ (rather than the Soulbury scale) , and the Trust recognises the need for parity with national rates.

Applicants must be professionally qualified and registered with the HCPC.

The River Learning Trust is a successful and growing Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) based in Oxfordshire.

This is an exciting time for the Trust. We are currently responsible for a number of secondary schools, primary schools, and a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) provider; we have a secondary Free School in pre-opening and are in discussions with a number of other secondary and primary schools as the Trust is preparing for further growth in the coming years.

Our Vision

Education has the power to change lives, communities and society for the better. At the River Learning Trust we believe that we can achieve more for our pupils, trainees, staff and communities by working together rather than alone. All of the schools in the River Learning Trust are united by a common belief in the benefits of working together, and by our commitment to a series of three principles:

  • Commitment to Excellence
  • Everyone Learning
  • Respectful Relationships

Within our vision:

  • Each school has its own unique character and ethos, reflecting local communities and their needs and priorities
  • The Trust establishes collective and collaborative autonomy where the drive for excellence comes from within the schools, to the benefit of all schools in the Trust
  • The relationships within the Trust ensure genuine and impactful joint accountability – the outcomes for all of the pupils in all of the schools matter to everyone
  • Schools continue to take responsibility for their own performance and character within a Trust context which provides both support and challenge
