The Role

Southwark's Educational Psychology Service is committed to improving life chances. This is an opportunity to apply your psychological skills and knowledge, team working, organisational and problem-solving skills to deliver excellence for children and families.

You will deliver evidence-informed, high quality psychological services to children, young people and families. You will provide targeted early intervention services and ensure they are delivered to the highest standards. You will also work closely with schools and early years settings to ensure that programmes for children and families have the maximum impact. You will share our commitment to integrated working, delivering family focused services and constant improvement.

The Requirements

We are looking for a fully qualified, registered Educational Psychologist with a background in applying psychology to meeting the needs of vulnerable children and young people. This will have equipped you with strong skills in psychological consultation, assessment, intervention, research and the delivery of training. We will consider applications from trainee educational psychologists.

Good communication skills, knowledge of appropriate legislation, guidance and policies and the ability to balance an unpredictable workload will be essential. Southwark is renowned for its cultural, ethnic and linguistic diversity and applicants are required to demonstrate competence in working within a diverse context.

You must be professionally qualified and registered with the HCPC.
