The School opened in the fall of 2020, and became the first bilingual school in their network. As an ELL teacher, you ensure students acquire the English language skills necessary for both academic success and social integration at their school. Your responsibilities encompass teaching ELL classes, coordinating school-wide literacy initiatives, providing support for fellow educators, and offering individual support to students in their language learning.
You will also:
- Design and teach classes to enhance students' English literacy, covering areas such as academic literacy and creative writing.
- Foster meaningful relationships with each student to gain a deep understanding of their unique needs and deliver personalized support to facilitate their English language proficiency.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop effective methods of instruction, share resources, and exchange ideas to enhance the overall English language learning experience.
- Identify and prioritize students who require the most language support, tailoring interventions to their specific needs.
- Document interventions with student records and routinely monitor progress to ensure continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with parents by providing feedback on their child's progress and hosting seminars on topics like guided reading and effective language learning practices that can be implemented at home.
- Foster meaningful relationships with each student to ensure a personalized and successful learning trajectory
- Guide students in pursuing academic achievement, personal responsibility, and intellect
- Pursue continuous professional growth by participating in ongoing professional development, collaborating with colleagues, and staying informed on the latest educational techniques and best practices in your field
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative school community
Work Experience

- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in your subject area.
- Experience: At least two years as the lead teacher in a classroom, a requirement for obtaining a working visa.
