Responsible for the line management of the Employment Skills Advisors and Industry Placement Advisors at the Seevic Campus.

To manage and coordinate the setting/tracking/reporting of team targets in relation to work placements for the Employment Skills Advisors and Industry Placement Advisors at the Seevic Campus.

Work closely with Heads of Learning and Curriculum teams ensuring that the learner work placement programme operates at maximum effectiveness and efficiency.

The post holder will promote the USP College Work Placement Programme and will be responsible for identifying and assessing prospective work placement opportunities through initiating and developing relationships with local businesses and organisations.  As part of our energetic, focused and welcoming team, you will enthuse and motivate students to strive for success and will support and mentor them through the placement process. This will involve providing group presentations and 1:1 advice/support along with the administration of the industry placement process. 

You will be able to build positive relationships with young people and support them to achieve their long-term career goals.  Using your expertise and emotional intelligence to unlock barriers to your students’ progress and provide the tools, support and challenge they need to go forwards. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, IT skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook), with the ability to work accurately. A confident and professional approach when dealing with students, staff and outside organisations is required.

Although this post is based at the Seevic, Benfleet Campus there may be a requirement to  travel to the Palmer’s Campus (Grays, Essex) training and events. A full clean driving licence, access to own vehicle and willingness to travel to surrounding areas is required.

 An understanding of Safeguarding including Prevent and Keeping Children Safe in Education legislation will also be required.

  • A Work Placement Risk Assessment Qualification or willingness to undertake training.


This role is considered exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020.
