Salary: Up to £35,123 per annum depending on experience

Nelson and Colne College, an Outstanding education provider with excellent facilities and unparalleled staff benefits, are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer (HE) to join our dedicated Engineering team on a full-time, permanent basis working 35 hours per week from March 2019. 

Main duties include:

  • Teach within the Engineering team on a range of programmes, delivering effective learning for students primarily on the HE provision 
  • Be up to date to plan, deliver and assess high quality teaching as required by your Line Manager to the appropriate number of hours (810 hours per annum)  
  • Develop and share resources for the course/subject
  • Deliver enrichment and enhancement activities
  • Complete required assessment duties in relation to student assignments

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree in an Engineering related subject area or appropriate professional qualification (subject specialisms in Business Management and/ or Quality and Operations Management for Engineers) 
  • Recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment
  • A higher degree or advanced qualification (desirable) 
  • Successful teaching experience in a relevant subject area (HE or Engineering) 
  • Knowledge of and proven ability to deliver the curriculum successfully
  • Robotics knowledge (desirable)

About Nelson and Colne College

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms. 

Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
