Job overview

Are you excited by the future of education in China? Do you want to be a part of it?

Dipont Education is seeking to appoint an education professional with vision, expertise and the ability to communicate and receive ideas cross-culturally in the shaping of a next generation paradigm for education in China.

As English Curriculum Developer you will join a team dedicated to shaping, testing and delivering unique, cutting edge curriculum for Grades 1 – 9 students in the Dipont Schools Programme across China.

As Dipont Education continues to adapt and keep pace with an evolving education landscape, you will make a vital contribution to the success of our teaching practices and to the lives of our students.

Background

Recent changes to education policy in China have made it mandatory for all schools to integrate Chinese National Curriculum (CNC) standards into their teaching and learning practices. An example of this is the Zhongkao; a senior high school entrance exam that all students must take in Grade 9 of their studies.

To keep pace with this policy change, Dipont Education has formed a department dedicated to creating integrated curriculum standards and resources informed by best practices in bilingual education. This is a team of Chinese and expat education professionals, working together to shape and steer this vital initiative.

About the role

Curriculum Development

You will be a key team player in the English curriculum department and instrumental in the designing and disseminating of the Dipont Schools G7-9 Scheme of Work. This includes researching and integrating content from the Chinese National Curriculum, Cambridge Global English Framework and CEFR.

Additionally, you will be part of a research team that ensures the Dipont Curriculum meets the needs of teaching and learning in our schools and facilitate the reviewing and revision of the G1-6 Scheme of Work that was implemented this year.

Resource Management

You will manage teaching and learning resources across the Dipont Schools Programme for Grades 1-9 English. This includes creating, monitoring, and assessing teaching resources, textbooks, lesson plans, and a professional development framework for teachers in your area of subject expertise.

Teacher Training

You will liaise and support English teachers working in the Dipont Schools Program in the updating of Schemes of Work for different grades across Grades 1 – 9 while also guiding professional development initiatives.

Partner Relations

You will establish and nurture regular collaboration and best practice sharing among English Coordinators / Heads of Department across the Dipont Schools Program.

About you

  • Post graduate qualification in Education
  • Experience as Subject Coordinator or Head of English
  • Competent at communicating cross-culturally
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to achieve consensus in a team setting
  • Willingness to adapt to and embrace change

If you are an experienced curriculum developer who understands and is enthused by the possibilities of bilingual education in China, we would like to talk to you about this exciting, challenging and important role.
