Responsibilities:
- Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the literacy learning process
- Differentiate to meet the needs of students with varying learning styles and needs
- Ensure students growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area and/or programme classification
- Participate in the development, administration and marking of exams and other assessments
- Assist in the development of learning materials, preparing schemes of work and maintaining records to monitor student progress, achievement and attendance
- Perform pastoral duties including student support, counselling students with academic development and providing student encouragement
- Communicate effectively with all parties such as students, parents, peers and line managers on a regular basis on students’ progress.
- Ensure the students growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group, subject area, and/or program classification.
- Meets professional obligations through efficient work habits such as meeting deadlines and honouring schedules.
Requirements
- Possess at least a Degree in Education/Teaching/Training or equivalent. Preferably majoring in English Literature, English as a First Language or English as a Second Language.
- Exposure in international curriculum such as IGCSE.
- Added advantage for those with experience teaching English Literature
- Fluency in both spoken and written English
- Good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Exhibits self-motivation, high work standards, attention to detail and learning orientations.

The Rafflesia International Schools have two campuses which are located respectively in Puchong and Kajang in the state of Selangor, Malaysia.
We aim to educate children from both international and local communities using the British National Curriculum (BNC), a curriculum that is renowned for its excellent quality. We offer a holistic approach towards education using internationally recognised curriculum, starting from nursery and preschool, and finally leading to the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations. The Cambridge International Primary Programme (CIPP) issued by Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) will be complemented by the International Primary Curriculum (IPC).
Our unique approach towards education ensures that our students are well-prepared to meet the demands of higher education after the IGCSE, such as the A-Levels or the International Baccalaureate programme.
