Job overview

Are you an enthusiastic English teacher who wants to make a difference to the outcomes for young people? If so we have just the opportunity for you at The Farnborough Academy.

The Farnborough Academy is part of the Trent Academies Group based in Nottingham. Our aim is to support schools and academies in providing outstanding education for their pupils. TAG currently consists of Rushcliffe School, an outstanding school in West Bridgford, Arnold Hill Academy, Arnold and The Farnborough Academy, an improving school in Clifton. We are currently in discussion with another like-minded trust with a view to merging and bringing even great opportunities to our pupils and people.

In our trust we work together, share staff, join up expertise, build on each other’s strengths, pool resources and combine facilities, so that everybody, staff and pupils, gets the chance to shine and achieve their best.

We are seeking to appoint inspiring and dedicated teacher of English who will have the ability to push the boundaries of Learning and Teaching. The ideal candidate will be able to operate within dynamic and forward-thinking faculty and be focused on developing exciting and engaging learning experiences for students across the 11-16 age range.

We are happy to hear from experienced and newly qualified teachers. The important thing is that you have a passion for English.

It is intended that teachers would be based at the Farnborough Academy but the diversity of academies within the trust will provide fantastic opportunities for teachers to develop their practice and skills.

We offer a full induction programme, excellent preparation for the next stage of your career and a rich menu of extra-curricular activities. The English Faculties across the trust are vibrant and extremely successful at ensuring that students make great progress.

We are fully committed to fostering a love of English in all pupils and certainly play a significant part in ensuring that ‘Everyone is given the chance to shine brightly.’
