Job overview

Lakeside School is a successful, independent specialist day school for young people aged 5 -13 years who have complex communication and learning needs with associated behaviours and anxieties.

Your role as an Escort/Driver will be to either escort the children whilst they are driven or drive one of the school minibuses, collecting them from their homes in the morning, and returning them after school.  The number of young people in each vehicle will be between one and 6, and there will always be 2 Driver/Escorts present.

Ideally applicants will have a clean driving licence with a minimum of 5 years driving experience, be over 25, have a good sense of humour and have the ability to work as part of a team.  Applicants should be of smart appearance, reliable and good time keepers.  We will consider applications from candidates who could be employed as either an escort or a driver.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS Check and, if employed as a Escort/Driver, will complete a MIDAS driver training course.  All employees will undertake staff induction training.

Hours

You will work Monday-Friday, 15 hours per week, and your hours will be split between the morning and afternoon school runs.  Term time only.
