Job overview

We are seeking to recruit Examination Invigilators to join our bank of casual staff.  Hours will be by arrangement and will coincide with the timetables set by national examining bodies and internal school mock examinations.  

Previous experience is not necessary as full training will be given, however to be successful, you will need to be extremely well organised, have the ability to prioritise your workload, and ensure that strict deadlines can be met. The ability to work on your own initiative and work within a team environment is key.

The main purpose of this role is to supervise examinations and to ensure that guidelines and regulations for the integrity and security of examination papers and procedures are followed during examination sessions. Typical duties include the following:

• To ensure a calm environment to give the candidates the best possible exam experience. 

• To set up the examination rooms as determined by the  Exams Manager. 

• To be aware of any needs that candidates may have during an examination. 

• To ensure that no inappropriate/not allowed items are brought into an examination room.

• To ensure all candidates are seated according to the seating plan provided.

Congleton High School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary academy with a sixth form, located in Congleton, Cheshire. At its most recent inspection, there were 1,103 pupils aged 11-18 on the school roll, including 220 in the sixth form.
