The Colne is an inclusive comprehensive school that sits within the heart of our community. Our ARK values of Aspiration, Resilience and Kindness describe the ethos that flows through our school. Students at The Colne deserve a first class education, achieving academic success, alongside developing the whole child so they have the skills and confidence they need to move onto aspirational pathways and careers when they leave us. At The Colne we are determined that the school remains focussed on moving forward, improving the outcomes and raising the aspirations of all the young people in our community. At The Colne we take seriously our responsibilities to safeguard the welfare of children and young people in our care. It is vital that we are able to establish and maintain an environment where students feel safe and secure. We ensure that our students know that there are adults in the school who they can approach if they are worried or are in difficulty. Education must guide, improve and challenge. That is what we aim to provide for each and every student, and we are exceptionally proud of what our students go on to achieve. Independent learning, a sense of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge are all actively encouraged at The Colne. We recognise and value the importance of the partnership between home and school, working together to ensure students are able to fulfil their potential and achieve their aspirations.

We are geared to providing the best possible opportunities for our staff. We trust that you will find our school to be a lively and dynamic institution, which leads all who work here to a new vision of their potential. The Colne Community School and College is based on values that demonstrate a real commitment to the young people that we serve. Staff at The Colne Community School and College are expected to aim for excellence, get involved in the life of the school and help to maintain a high standard of behaviour. In return you will be provided with excellent support and CPD. You will also be provided with opportunities to take professional courses and to progress in your career.

There has never been a more exciting time to join our school community. It is an unprecedented opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our young students and work with us on our journey to success supported by the Sigma Trust, a large and local trust of schools. If you would like to work in an exciting, supportive and  collaborative environment and you feel that you have the enthusiasm and commitment required to join our school, we look forward to meeting you.
