EXAM INVIGILATORS

Start: December 2018

£10 per hour

We are looking to appoint additional Exam Invigilators to our team, working on a flexible basis as and when required. We seek excellent individuals to help with the organising and running of all public and mock examinations at Chelsea Academy. Helping the students through this critical stage is a vital part of their education.

Successful applicants will be reliable, able to work alone and as part of a team, have a good eye for detail and be able to remain calm under pressure.

Experience is not required, as training will be provided

Staff will be contacted prior to the exam period to discuss the invigilation schedule in relation to their own availability.

Jobs will typically include collecting and distributing examination materials, supervising candidates during sessions and carrying out related administrative tasks.

Overview

We are currently graded outstanding by Ofsted and SIAMS, a World Class School and are a member of the Leading Edge network. In the summer we achieved our best ever GCSE and A level results in terms of both progress (top 10% nationally) and attainment. However, we are much more than a successful, academically focused school. We believe in educating the whole child and our Christian values of joy, perseverance, servant leadership, charity and forgiveness underpin everything we stand for. It is important that all of our staff, whether they are teachers or not, work closely with our young people and ensure that they are successful in all that they do. We are looking for staff who will always go the extra mile for our young people and believe that education happens both in and out of the classroom.

Chelsea Academy is a great place to work (we are one of the few schools in the country with Investors in People Gold), our staff are friendly and supportive and we offer a whole range of professional development opportunities no matter what stage you are at in your career. Most of our senior and middle leaders started as teachers with us and have developed into highly talented practitioners.

Whilst there is no 'one way' of doing things here, teaching staff work collaboratively to ensure a rigorous focus on teaching, learning and assessment. Our approach works, our results improved year on year and at both GCSE and A level we are now in the top 20% of schools nationally.

As well as a commitment to academic success for all of our students we also ensure that we have an Extended Curriculum programme. We work with many agencies and organisations to support our students and have strong links with both local and national employers. We want all our students to flourish and be prepared for their next steps.

Further Information

Chelsea Academy is sponsored by the London Diocesan Board for Schools and Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. We are a warm, friendly and inclusive school with a strong  Christian ethos and have a track record of excellent examination success and first class staff development. We combine traditional values and high standards with an innovative approach to learning and teaching and a strong commitment to staff development. The Academy’s specialism is the sciences and we also offer 10% of our places to students with a musical aptitude. Visitors to the school have consistently commented on the high standards of behaviour, enthusiasm for learning and confidence of our students, as well as the Academy’s stunning new £43m building.

Our most recent Ofsted inspection in September 2023, saw us being judged strongly good in all areas. Our current SIAMS grading is outstanding. Recent outcomes at GCSE and A Level demonstrate  strong progress for all students with the Academy’s GCSE results this summer being the highest the Academy has ever achieved. However, we are much more than a successful, academically focused school. We believe in educating the whole child and our Christian values of joy, perseverance, servant leadership, charity and forgiveness underpin everything we stand for.
