Job overview

Queen Ethelburga’s is an Independent Collegiate of four co-educational schools. Located in North Yorkshire between the towns of York and Harrogate, we offer outstanding facilities and motivated students who join us with a broad range of academic, social and cultural backgrounds. We pride ourselves on being a happy community where students can grow to reach their full potential, both academically and socially. To meet the needs of our students we offer a wide choice of qualifications, a supportive environment and an exciting programme of extra–curricular opportunities, which are underpinned by high quality teaching and learning. The school actively promotes the professional development of its staff through induction, CPD and career development opportunities.

We are now seeking an Examinations Officer to coordinate the running and administration of internal and external examinations. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, be highly organised and accurate, and capable of working on their own, as well as part of a wider team.

Flexibility is crucial to this role in order to meet the demands of a busy school, as is the ability to build effective relationships with staff, governors, visitors and the whole school community.

As a thriving boarding Collegiate, we have seen our numbers grow year on year, making us one of the largest boarding communities in the country. Our facilities are enhanced annually to help ensure that we have everything needed to allow our young people ‘to be the best they can with the gifts that they have’ (our Hill Standard).

Please note that this is a non-residential position with no on-site accommodation being offered. Your own transport is essential due to our rural location.

For more information and to request an application pack please contact HR Department, on 01423 33 3300 or email recruitment@qe.org.

Principal: Mr Steven Jandrell BA

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  You will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure.

We would like to thank you in advance for your interest in Queen Ethelburga's Collegiate.  However, due to the high volume of applications that we attract it will not be possible to respond to every application that we receive.  If you have not heard from us within two to three weeks of the closing date, please assume that, unfortunately, on this occasion you have not been successful, and we wish you every success for the future.
