Executive Head

Shrewsbury House School Trust is a charitable trust that operates three independent schools that seek to provide the best possible day school education for children aged between 3 and 13.  The Trust is made up of two co-educational pre-preparatory schools, Shrewsbury House Pre-Preparatory School and The Rowans School, and a leading boys’ preparatory school, Shrewsbury House School.

Founded in 1865, Shrewsbury House is one of the oldest boys’ preparatory schools in the country.  It has a reputation for excellence in all areas and currently educates 345 boys aged 7 to 13.  Shrewsbury House Prep-Preparatory School is based in Esher and has capacity for 150 pupils aged 3 to 7 and The Rowans, based in Wimbledon, currently has over 120 pupils aged 3 to 7.  The Trust aims to provide an outstanding academic and broad education across all three schools and pupils go on to attend some of the top senior schools in the country.

Following Kevin Doble's appointment to the role of Chief Executive of Northwood Schools after ten years' of outstanding leadership, Shrewsbury House School Trust now seeks an inspirational new Executive Head to lead Shrewsbury House whilst overseeing the future development of the pre-preparatory schools. The Executive Head is responsible for the overall strategic leadership of the three schools and will drive growth and collaboration throughout to ensure that every member of the Trust's community flourishes.

The next Executive Head will lead the Trust with a compelling vision and sense of determination.  The successful candidate will also understand and nurture the Trust’s ethos and values whilst looking ahead to the future with a genuine sense of ambition.  This person will be a recognised leader with a track record of success in independent education and a deep understanding of the sector’s specific challenges and opportunities.
