Job overview

The Cabot Learning Federation is a mature academy group in the South West. We currently sponsor six secondary academies and eight primary academies, an all-through provision, Digitech Studio School and a discrete Post 16 provision and inclusion provisions for both primary and secondary phases.

The mission of the CLF references a commitment to 3-19 provision; the successful candidate will demonstrate experience in and a sound knowledge of all phases from Early Years to Key Stage 5. However, in order to complement the skills and knowledge of the existing Executive Team, a deep-rooted expertise in the primary phase will need to be demonstrable.

Naturally engaging your vision of how services can be transformed, combined with your highly developed influencing skills and a successful delivery track record will be underpinned by personal resilience and an ability to thrive in a high-profile leadership role. Already an Executive Principal or Principal with a credible track record, you will enjoy being part of an ambitious, highly motivated team. This role will initially be primary focused; however, you will have the ability and experience to lead across all key stages.

The CLF is a partnership of schools that is sponsored by Rolls Royce PLC and The University of the West of England (UWE). It now sponsors twelve academies in Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Weston super Mare and Bath. This means that we are responsible and accountable for the education over 6,000 students between the ages of 4 and 19 and for the employment and support of over 1,000 staff.

Our vision is based upon our mission of "collaboration for outstanding achievement" and the work that is now shared between our schools at senior and middle leadership level, teachers and support staff underpins this every day. All of our staff are employed by the CLF and this enables us to give colleagues the opportunity to work in more than one academy either for their own development or because the skills that they have are needed by more than one of our schools.
