A number of schools in Wolverhampton require Qualified Teaching assistants and Sen teachers for supply based roles for day to day and potential long term cover in SEN schools.

The role:

ABC Teachers, an award winning recruitment agency owned by TES, are currently recruiting passionate and hardworking Teaching Assistants and Teachers to work within the Special Educational Needs department of a number of schools located in Wolverhampton and the surrounding areas. The Schools cater for Students with a range of differing SEN issues and contain pupils aged between 6 and 16 years old and provides a challenging, exciting and rewarding environment to work within.

Due to the role being centred within a Sen setting, it is important to show you have experience dealing with a variety of Special needs. This will ideally be within a Sen school but long term proven experience outside of a school will be considered.

As part of the job you will be assisting the class teacher as well as working alongside other Teaching Assistants on a 1:1 basis as well as in a group setting. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within a similar role. The role can vary from day to day so flexibility and a sound Sen knowledge is vital. Occasionally permanent positions do become available although this cannot be guaranteed.

The ideal candidate – 

Essential:

· Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

· SEN teaching qualification

· Experience within an SEN setting is a must; if not in a school, evidence of working long    term with an organisation or individual with SEN

· Be eligible to work within the UK and hold a valid in-date DBS 

· Punctual and reliable and able to make a good first impression

· 3 recent references, 1 of which needs to be school based.

Desirable 

· Available for full and part time work on short notice

· Quick ability to build trust and a rapport with SEN students

· Flexible and ideally hold a full valid driving licence

· HLTA qualified 

· School based experience

· A can do attitude

· Qualifications in SEN


What to do next:

To be considered for this position you will be required to attend a face to face registration and hold an enhanced DBS check in Child Workforce. You will need to pay for this upfront, but once you are fully registered, have uploaded this onto the Update Service and have worked 1 full day with us then we will reimburse you the cost. At the registration we will discuss in more detail the work that you are looking for, your experience to date, and also how we are going to work best for you. 

We will need to gain academic references to cover the last 12 months, one of which must be a school based reference. Our compliance team have a rigorous safeguarding and clearance process and this is how we know we are working with the best possible team of staff to employ in our schools.
