ORGANISATION

One Planet School Dodoma has been opened as a result of the demand for high quality international education for both national and international students in the Capital of the United Republic of Tanzania.

CURRICULUM 

Our school offers education for all ages: from Nursery all the way to International A-level.

We teach according to the Cambridge International Education (CIE) syllabus and our school is a candidate Cambridge International School and Exam Centre which administers exams for the IGCSE and A Levels. The school is also exploring the possibility for the students to do the NECTA Examinations.

Our teachers carry with them the knowledge and experience of different countries all over the world and they are all internationally oriented in outlook and training.

Our facilities are modern and located in the premises of the University of Dodoma in Tanzania.

We put emphasis on a holistic development of our students. There will be performing arts and visual arts where parents are invited to support and encourage the students’ endeavours. There will also be extra-curricular activities after school hours to develop the talents of the students.

Activities

Indoors and outdoors: The teaching methodology will be both inside the classrooms and also outside. These outdoors activities will make a learning process very real and practical (environment, nature, climate change, the human achievements, etc.). This will help our students learn to explore the world by themselves and understand it better 

Debate Competitions: Debates will be held on various social and educational issues to develop critical thinking, public speaking and sportsmanship in students. 

Parents’ evenings: Parents’ evenings/days will be held where students will showcase their talents in various performing arts subjects like singing, dancing, drama etc. 

Sports day/week: Parents and students are encouraged to participate in Sports events which aim to promote camaraderie amongst students and to encourage students to be active physical as well as mentally. 

Diversity Day: There will be a day to celebrate the diversity in the school. Interested parents and students can showcase their different food, clothes, languages etc. that enriches our life.

After school activities: The teachers and interested members of the parents will be overseeing various activities after school. There could be clubs for football, basketballs robotics, swimming, arts, gymnastics etc    

FACILITIES 

The facilities include a modern new infrastructure with spacious and airy classrooms. We have state of the art IT facilities for innovative teaching, contemporary laboratories for practical experiment, and equipment for the performing and visual arts 


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

· Be responsible for the learning and achievement of all pupils in the class/es ensuring equality of opportunity for all 

· Be responsible and accountable for achieving the highest possible standards in work and conduct

· Treat pupils with dignity, building relationships rooted in mutual respect, and at all times observing proper boundaries appropriate to a teacher’s professional position

· Work proactively and effectively in collaboration and partnership with learners, parents/carers, governors, other staff and external agencies in the best interests of pupils

· Take responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people within the school potential according to the Cambridge Curriculum in a 21 century approach
