About the School

Mountfield Heath School is entering into its 3rd phase of recruitment.  We are looking for a Caretaker to join our team working in our new independent special educational needs provision, for 32 pupils aged 5-12.  The successful candidate, under the direction of the Senior Leadership Team will ensure the safety of the site for both students and staff.  They will be responsible for maintaining the site as well as the upkeep for any necessary records relating to Health & Safety.

About the role

Working as the Caretaker at Mountfield Heath School you will undertake general maintenance, co-ordinate site support services and external contractors, as well as being responsible for regular, necessary and statutory checks.

We are looking for an individual with high expectations and standards, who can offer excellent organisational and constructive, practical skills.  The ability to contribute to the development of our school is essential and we believe that energy, passion and a commitment to high standards are key characteristics required.  We are looking for a motivated individual who is able to work as part of a team as well as use their initiative when working alone.

This is an opportunity for the successful candidate to develop their skills and experience in a challenging, motivating and highly rewarding environment.  Salary is £17,000 - £18,500 depending on experience.

At Mountfield Heath School we support boys and girls between the ages of 5 and 11 years of age who have a range of social, emotional and mental health needs and also pupils who have been diagnosed with autism or demonstrate behaviours associated with autism. Our aim is very simple: we want to equip every child with the skills, knowledge and confidence that they need to be successful in their future.

Mountfield Heath School is set in a spacious, site with designated spaces for outdoor learning and large classrooms. The school is newly refurbished and all learning spaces are bright and airy with high specification IT resources. The school has designated therapeutic areas and plenty of space for creative and experiential learning to take place.
