The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated facilities estates operative to join the estates department. This role is to assist with general maintenance of the school, including painting, joinery, transporting goods and furniture, taking deliveries into school and sorting internal mail.
Hours of work are: 37 hours per week with rotating shifts patterns: 06:00 am until 14:00 pm and 13:30 pm until 21:30 pm with a 30 minute early finish on Fridays and 30 minute daily unpaid lunch break.
Ideally candidates will have previous experience of working in a similar environment with an understanding of Health and safety (H&S) requirements (including COSHH) and hold a qualification in H&S, or be willing to work towards. They should also have experience of using specialist tools and equipment and must be capable of working well on their own and as part of a wider team. The role also requires driving deliveries to our pre-prep school based in Headingley, therefore a driving licence is required.
