South Staffordshire College require an experienced Stock Person to work as part of a small team under the direction of the Farm Operations Manager. 

The Stock Person be responsible for high quality care and welfare of the farm livestock on the college farm which forms part of the 450 acre Rodbaston Estate in Staffordshire. The mixed livestock farm comprises beef, sheep and cereal enterprises and is operated on a commercial basis which also supports teaching and learning in agriculture and related land based industries. 

South Staffordshire College has recently invested over £5.4m with the launch of the new Agri-STEM Academy, which is located adjacent to the farm.

The successful applicant will be educated to at least NVQ level 3 or possess at least 3 years’ experience of livestock husbandry to high standards.

Experience in operation of farm machinery, record keeping and a knowledge of all aspects of livestock production methods, animal health and nutrition is required.

Knowledge of pedigree breeding and preparation of show cattle would also be advantageous.
