FINANCE & CORPORATE SERVICES DIRECTOR  

Permanent, full-time  37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year  

Salary: £75k to £85k per annum (Dependent on Skills, Qualifications & Experience)   


We currently have a vacancy for a high calibre finance professional to join Bath College as a Senior Post Holder.  


Reporting to the Principal & Chief Executive, the Finance Director will play a key role in working with senior colleagues to lead, drive and deliver the Business Plan, working closely with the Commercial Director to maximise opportunities for growth.   


Our Finance Director will need to be able to develop and implement financial strategies to ensure the College’s financial strength is maintained whilst the College develops outstanding teaching and learning and excellent outcomes for our students.  


A team player, we are looking for a leader to work collaboratively with colleagues in leading change, ensuring that effective and efficient processes and systems operate, providing accurate and timely financial management information to stakeholders and our intention to deliver the best resources and facilities for students are supported by robust financial plans. You will be expected to provide strategic leadership and direction across Finance, Estates, IT Services and Procurement & Contracts, whilst also supporting managers to maximise the effectiveness of their resource management.  


Our successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with a track record of financial planning and control and of delivering results at the highest level within a challenging environment, using excellent networking and influencing skills to establish effective working relationships with senior management colleagues, Governors, the broader organisation, and with local, regional and national partners.   


Experience in the education sector or in a public sector organisation is essential, as are excellent communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to work accurately to deadlines.    


This is an excellent opportunity to play a key part in the future success of the College, and will offer a developmental career opportunity for the right individual.  


This role will be predominantly be based at Somer Valley Campus Radstock, with regular visits to our City Centre Campus Bath.

 Bath College is a co-educational, non-denominational further education college in Somerset. As of the most recent inspection there were 1676 students on the school roll studying full-time, and 3453 students studying part-time. Development on a Construction Skills Centre at Bath College began in January 2017. The college is split into two campuses, with a main site in Bath City Centre and Somer Valley campus, which specialises in vocational courses such as Arboriculture and Engineering. The town of Bath has a population of 89,000, and has been a World Heritage site since 1987. The college’s main site is located opposite the historic Thermae Bath Spa and The Gainsborough Bath Spa hotel.
