Future Schools Trust are seeking a Finance Assistant (Payroll/Pensions) to join the Finance Team on a permanent basis, who will be based at the Central Services Hub but may also be required to work across all Trust sites.      

This role will be running the Trust payroll function, payroll control accounts and assist in staff budget monitoring and deputise for the Management Accountant and Payroll Officer as and when required. Responsibility for the processing and monitoring of payroll for all four settings within the Trust ensuring the payroll is processed on time, accurately and ensuring external agency payments are also paid promptly. This role will also assist in the reconciliation of the payroll control account and completing returns and administration in relation to the two pension schemes.

Person Specification Requirements

•Experience working in a payroll environment, ideally within the Education sector. 

•Experience of using Sage 50 Cloud payroll package essential 

•Experience administering the Teachers’ Pension Scheme and Local Government Pension Scheme (desirable) 

•Strong Excel and IT skills 

•Experience of working on a number of different and separate tasks at once and the ability to deal with changing priorities 

•A good team player with a “can do” attitude 

•Strong technical skills and attention to detail 

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 

•Able to understand the importance of confidentiality in the workplace 

•CIPP or equivalent qualification or working towards; or relevant work experience. 

•Minimum 5 GCSE’s A-C including Mathematics and English (or equivalent)
