We are seeking to appoint a temporary finance assistant to work in our busy and supportive team. Due to some temporary staffing changes within the school an opportunity has become available for a finance assistant to join us on a temporary basis until the end of June 2019.
This is a wonderful opportunity to gain some really valuable experience in a forward thinking school and to put your strong IT skills to the test! The role will involve working closely with our finance officer as well other members of the support staff team and finance staff, across the Trust, in a very professional and friendly environment.
As part of the finance team you would need to meet weekly, monthly and annual deadlines and support budget holders by providing advice and information on our suppliers and the complete order process (after training of course!). The school currently uses the PS Financials system to record all financial transaction; orders, invoices, deliveries, payment, debt, bank reconciliation. Part of the Finance Assistant role is to ensure that data on PS is up to date and accurate.
You will need to be confident in the use of IT applications and the ability to create and manipulate Excel spreadsheets is essential. Flexibility will be key as will a meticulous, organised, analytical approach, together with the ability to provide excellent customer service and to work accurately with attention to detail.
Previous experience of working in an academic environment would be an advantage but this post could be equally suited to an experienced finance assistant who has worked in a different sector.
