Job overview

Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) is seeking a Finance Manager who can utilise their significant expertise and management skills to lead the Finance function across a number of secondary schools.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Finance professional to join OGAT, a family of 31 schools, and make a substantial contribution delivering the Trust’s vision.

As a high-performing multi-academy trust we embrace the opportunity to ensure that all children, irrespective of their starting point, receive an excellent education. We relish the opportunity to be part of the much-needed regeneration of the areas we work in.

To achieve this aim, staff within Outwood Grange Academies Trust have three values in common. We all:

  • Put ‘students first’: we care deeply about children;
  • Strive to be experts in our respective fields; and
  • Are obsessive about attaining the highest standards, thereby enhancing children’s life-chances.

In brief, your core responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead the financial control and management of up to 5 Secondary academies in the Trust;
  • Ensure that all relevant financial information and reporting is produced to a high standard and within deadlines;
  • Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and Trust policies whilst maximising value for money;
  • Effectively line managing your team to deliver the above.

You will ideally be a fully qualified accountant with experience of operating at this level.

Please follow the link to OGAT’s vacancy page for further details.

Closing date: Midday on Monday, 25 March 2019.

Interview date: Wednesday, 27 March 2019.

Please note that there is currently a job evaluation exercise being undertaken across the Trust. The salary advertised for this post is therefore subject to job evaluation and may change.

Outwood Grange Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All appointments will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

We are proud that Outwood Academy Portland is rated Outstanding by Ofsted. We are an 11-18 academy based in the large friendly town of Worksop, near Sheffield and Nottingham.

Since joining the Outwood Family in 2012, our students have achieved impressive exam result success.

We have created an educational environment where staff and students constantly strive to improve; where teachers sharpen their skills and expand their repertoires to deliver an outstanding learning experience; and where teachers, classroom assistants, mentors, tutors, inclusion support assistants and students operate as a seamless team. This enables everybody, staff and students, to not only see but also help fulfil the potential in each other. Following its latest visit, Ofsted noted that our ‘teachers and support staff comment positively about the opportunities they have for regular training to develop their skills.’

We believe our success speaks for itself as we are above the national average for the number of students achieving at a Grade 5 or above in English & maths GCSEs. We are also proud to have been awarded Bronze Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

The Outwood Family of Schools pride ourselves on fully supporting colleagues within the Family both professionally and personally.

We work hard to ensure we reduce workload on staff, allowing more time in the classroom to put our vision of students first, raising standards and transforming lives into practice.

As a founding Trust of the National Institute of Education (NIoT), we will actively invest in your future through working closely with the Outwood Institute of Education and NIoT to offer access to a wide range of CPD opportunities, with all teaching staff receiving a minimum of two hours of CPD each week.

We also offer a generous employment package with a whole host of staff benefits, including family friendly policies, enhanced occupational benefits available (such as maternity, adoption and parental leave) with no qualifying period, funded CPD for qualifications up to and including Masters level plus other exclusive benefits including a partnership with car leasing company, Synergy.

All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.

If you share our vision, join our family.
