An outstanding opportunity at an outstanding School

The school is seeking to appoint a talented and well-qualified professional to this important role. The successful applicant will be required to work with the Chief Financial Officer in all matters relating to accounting, budget management, statutory returns and reporting. In addition, there will also be other significant responsibilities in relation to asset management, risk management and financial compliance.

Weatherhead High School is an extremely successful school. In our most recent OFSTED inspection, we were judged as outstanding in every category. The report noted that “students make outstanding progress whatever their starting point or circumstances and the standards they achieve are significantly above national averages”. In 2016 and 2017, the school achieved a positive P8 score, this year placing us in the top 18% of schools in the country. The school is oversubscribed on intake with a ten-form entry each year at Year 7.

Weatherhead has an excellent reputation for the provision of high quality CPD and Leadership Courses and since 2014 has been a Teaching School, supporting neighbouring schools and Initial Teacher Training. As part of the Peninsula Multi Academy Trust, Weatherhead is committed to a culture of excellence and we are looking for an individual who shares that ethos.

Applicants must have:

  • Experience of managing significant financial resources
  • A well-developed understanding of ESFA accounting processes, procedures and reporting requirements
  • A high level of integrity and a commitment to uphold good governance
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

For further details and an application form, please telephone the school or download the relevant files from www.weatherheadhigh.co.uk

A letter of application with the application form, including names and addresses of two referees, should be returned to the Headteacher, via post or email.

Closing date: Friday, 15th December 2017.

Interviews will be held in January 2018.
