Part-time 20 hours per week, 5 days a week Mon to Friday, 9.10am until 1.30pm including breaks.
The Taunton Academy, part of the Richard Huish Trust, is seeking to appoint a Technician to join our Food and Nutrition Department. We are looking for a proactive, reliable person with experience of working in a food environment, with the ability to manage resources, prepare equipment, and ensure a safe and clean working environment. This role supports the teachers in delivering high quality education during practical sessions.
The academy is on a rapid improvement journey and has a strong staff team in place to ensure every child is enabled to fulfil their potential. We have excellent pastoral support and our students report that they feel very happy and safe at the school. We are proud of our students. The relationships between staff and students are strong. Community engagement is also an important feature; a recent poll showed a high degree of parental satisfaction.

The Taunton Academy, sponsored by the outstanding Richard Huish Trust, is an 11-16 academy in the north of Taunton. With modern, impressive facilities, the academy currently caters for approximately 830 students, with an increasing roll anticipated to see numbers rise to in the region of 1200 over the next few years. Taunton is Somerset’s county town and has easy access to the M5. Somerset is a lovely place to live with the stunning Somerset Levels, Quantock Hills and Blackdowns on your doorstep.

Pyrland School (formerly The Taunton Academy) is a secondary school (11 – 16), located on the outskirts of Taunton with approximately 830 students on roll.
