£8.28 per hour

Ashville Harrogate seeks to appoint an experienced Food and Nutrition Technician, to join our busy Food and Nutrition department.

This post is part-time, 22 hours per week, term-time only.

The successful candidate will provide general and technical assistance to the Food and Nutrition Department, through the ordering and preparation of materials and equipment for practical work and coursework, and the maintenance of resources and will maintain the hygiene and cleanliness of the Food and Nutrition room.

Familiarity with Food Safety legislation, ideally holding a Certificate in Food Hygiene and previous experience of working with food are essential for this role. Being able to work as part of a team and on own initiative and having a flexible and adaptable approach to work are also desirable for this role.

Ashville College is a co-educational, independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 2–18. The college, set in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, comprises a pre-school, prep school and senior school with pupil numbers totaling around 870, 170 of whom are in the sixth form and 100 are boarders. The school is a registered charity, administered by Ashville College Trustees.

Ashville College was founded in 1877 as a boarding school for boys by the United Methodist Free Church. Expansion over the decades culminated in a merger with Elmfield College, Harrogate, in the 1930s, by which time Ashville was the largest private school in the north of England.   The most significant development came in 1982 when the school become co-educational.
