Job overview

The Governors seek to appoint a dynamic, inspiring and creative Food Technology Teacher to teach KS3 and KS4 Food Tech, as well as other aspects of Design Technology. For this role, the ability to specialise in Food Technology is essential, with the ability to offer other aspects of DT highly desirable.

The Khalsa Academy Wolverhampton is a relatively new Sikh ethos school which currently has years 7 - 9 and from September 2018 will have years 7 - 10. Due to the expansion of the school and growing pupil numbers, we now need to expand our Design and Technology department and would be interested in NQTs or experienced teachers who are able to teach Food Tech at KS3 and KS4, as well as any other DT specialisms.

Our school is underpinned by our core values that we strive to provide every student with exceptional life chances. We believe education is more than just results. Whilst we do not compromise on high expectations, we value the development of our young people into responsible, aspirational, independent citizens able to thrive in any situation.

To be successful, you will:

  • Support the Sikh ethos of the school
  • Have high expectations of pupils and be an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Be able to communicate effectively with students, parents and staff
  • Be able to work as part of a friendly and successful team

We offer:

  • Enthusiastic, hardworking students with a quest for learning
  • Excellent teaching and learning resources
  • Supportive parents
  • Opportunities for continuing professional development
