Job overview

Akroydon Primary Academy joined Trinity Multi-Academy Trust in February 2017.  We share the vision of all schools in the trust, which is to ensure that each and every one of our children receive an education that sets them on the path for life-long success.

We achieve this through ensuring that children are educated in an environment that is inspiring and nurturing so that they can achieve more.  We have exciting plans for our growth and continued improvement and this is an excellent opportunity to be part of our academy community.

We have benefited greatly from being part of Trinity MAT, in our first full year in the trust we have improved our headline measure (percentage of pupils achieving ARE in RWM), by 37% (from 25% to 62%).  These outcomes make the academy the second most improved primary school, out of more than 100, in Calderdale.

We are currently looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Forest School Leader to develop our outdoor curriculum across the academy. The successful candidate will have a passion for engaging children with the natural world and have the ability to inspire and encourage, whilst setting good clear boundaries.

The ability to work within a team and inspire your colleagues is essential, but it's important that you can use your own initiative and are able to plan and deliver an exciting curriculum for our students. It is essential that you hold a Forest School Level 3 certification and have previous experience in leading outdoor education sessions.

You must be fully committed to optimising the opportunities that are available to children and young people, secure in the knowledge that you will be joining an ambitious and forward-thinking primary academy that is part of a growing Academy Trust.

Start date:       As soon as possible

Closing date: 9 am on 26 April 2019
