Job overview

We are the Stephen Perse Foundation. Extraordinary things happen here every day.

So you think you may be interested in joining the Stephen Perse Foundation (SPF) community of schools? Located in Cambridge, Madingley and Saffron Walden, our schools strive to offer an education which is more than just the delivery of the curriculum and qualifications; learning in a Stephen Perse school is about learning for and about life in readiness for the world beyond.

As Principal of the Foundation, I look to recruit colleagues who are passionate about learning; share in our commitment to educating ethical young people; and understand the critical importance of supporting the emotional and mental wellbeing of all our learners. If you would like a flavour of what this means in practice, please read my most recent blog.

The Stephen Perse Foundation

The Stephen Perse Foundation is a family of independent schools combining excellent results and achievement alongside personal wellbeing located across Cambridge and Saffron Walden; educating boys and girls from nursery to sixth form where students gain an exceptional skill set that supports ambition, nurtures talent, encourages creativity and critical thinking leading to success and self-fulfilment.

Stephen Perse Nurseries & Early Years - Madingley

At our Cambridge Madingley site we offer the following classes – Baby, Toddler, Rising three's and Kindergarten.

In each class the children’s learning opportunities and experiences are aimed at developing the skills they need to be successful. Through having each of these classes in our early years provision we can plot a child’s learning journey knowing what they need in Reception and discovering how best to support them in achieving ‘school readiness’.

We think that life is an adventure and we help our boys and girls to embrace it with confidence, independence and joy. While our nursery at Madingley has its own unique personality and features, it shares the same commitment to play-based learning and development, the same approach to health and nutrition, and the same exceptional level of childcare as the other Stephen Perse Nurseries.

Children at Madingley forge a strong connection with nature and the environment thanks to the outdoor play areas and on-site Forest School. Combined with the beautiful buildings we occupy, it’s the perfect place for our nursery children to develop and learn.

Facilities at Madingley

Our nursery for ages 1-3 is located in a beautiful lodge, full of creative spaces and cozy areas. Our Kindergarten and Reception classrooms are in a picturesque Victorian schoolhouse, along with a light, spacious hall.

Our large playground has climbing frames and balance equipment, perfect for improving coordination and burning off energy, and our garden includes sensory play areas including a mud kitchen.

Surrounded by nature, we offer lots of opportunities for children to explore the world around them, including our on-site Forest School.
