Job overview

The FPTA Academies Trust is a multi-academy trust based in Medway, which presently consists of three secondary schools and two junior schools and is recruiting for an interesting and varied role of Super Purchaser and H&S Co-ordinator to support the Finance function within the Trust. 

This role will undertake varied responsibilities as a key member of the Central Finance Team, including negotiating discounts on all major contracts across the Trust and monitoring and overseeing the purchase order patterns ensuring value for money.  You will also take a lead on the Health & Safety requirements and assessments across the estate.  Previous experience of working in a finance based position would be an advantage. Full financial support will be given to the candidates seeking to gain relevant formal qualifications to enable their further development of the role and progress within the Trust. 

Ideally candidates should be able to evidence 

• an excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

 • experience working with purchase and sales ledger systems

 • experience in supplier contract negotiations 

• experience in Health and Safety management

About The Thomas Aveling School

The Thomas Aveling School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school with sixth form situated in Rochester, Kent. It is an academy converter supported by a multi-academy trust called Fort Pitt Thomas Aveling Academies Trust, which supports four other schools around the country. The school will provide 1,080 places for secondary and sixth-form students between the ages of 11 and 18 when fully subscribed.

Previously a Technology College and Training School, Thomas Aveling converted to an academy in September 2011.
