Applications are invited from suitably qualified teachers for the following position: 

Full Time Temporary Teaching positions for the 2019 school year 

Applicants must: 

  • have a commitment to the practice of the Catholic faith and appropriate  Religious Education qualifications;
  • have a knowledge of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and mission  of the school;
  • have a commitment to excellence as a classroom teacher; 
  • be willing to teach any class level from K-6; 
  • be able to work collaboratively in flexible learning space 
  • understand the functioning of a professional learning community 
  • be skilled in working effectively in a team. 
  • a current NSW Working with Children Check 
  • hold current NESA Teacher Accreditation 


Please nominate three (3) referees, one of whom is the Parish Priest from usual place of worship.

About St Joseph’s Primary School ALSTONVILLE

St Joseph's Primary School is a co-educational Catholic school located in Alstonville, in the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. The school caters to students from Kindergarten to Year 6, with a current enrolment of 195 students and employs 16 teaching staff. 

The school was opened in 1919 with the arrival of the Sisters of St Joseph, and operated out of one single classroom. The school's motto is 'Growth Through Love'.

The facilities at the primary school are very well maintained, offering bright and stimulating learning spaces specific to different stages. These spaces include purpose-built, air-conditioned classrooms, well-stocked library, multi-purpose school hall, healthy canteen, onsite parish church, undercover play areas and green playing fields.

Curriculum

At St Joseph’s Primary School the curriculum encompasses Religious Education and the six key learning areas mandated by the New South Wales Board of Studies. In addition to key learning areas of English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Art and Sport, the school also offers choir, band and other music groups, as well as the opportunity to participate in swimming, athletic and cross country carnivals at local, regional and state levels.
