About the role

The Trust offers an enrichment programme in Music and Sport that is unrivalled in the state sector, in which every young person is encouraged to explore new activities, discover their talents and develop their passions, setting themselves up for life beyond school. This programme is financed by the Trust’s Inspiration Fund, which encompasses fundraising activities in schools, trust-wide fundraising ‘sprints’ and support from Trusts, Foundations and individual donors.

To support our ambitious vision and the next stage of our development, we are currently looking for an experienced Fundraising Manager with skills in bid writing and major donor cultivation to join our dynamic and dedicated team. You will play a leading role in the development of this £1.2 million fundraising campaign and the future of the Trust.

As our Fundraising Manager, you will be responsible for writing and submitting grant applications on behalf of the Trust to raise funds for the Inspiration Fund. You will be responsible for reporting to funders and researching prospective grant-givers. You will also play a key role in developing relationships with alumni from the Trust’s schools.

The role will be based remotely with occasional in-person meetings at Trust schools (mainly Northampton, London and Loughborough).  Working 3-4 days per week, including outside normal working hours, evenings and, at times, at weekends.

Salary & Benefits

£30,000pa FTE (pro rata for number of days worked)

Who we are looking for

Track record in trust/foundation fundraising

Outstanding writing skills suited to preparing funding proposals and reports of the highest quality

Meticulous attention to detail in all areas of work

Experience of building budgets and reporting against spend

Ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure against multiple priorities

Ability to think and plan strategically and to spot funding opportunities

Ability to work efficiently and autonomously

Ability to maintain a discreet, diplomatic and sensitive approach to all grant-making bodies and philanthropists

Excellent relationship-building skills, both internally and with trust and foundation representatives and philanthropists

Ability to work with others to develop strategic vision and problem solving capabilities

Project management experience

Sound knowledge of charitable giving and taxation as applied to fundraising

A highly positive outlook with a desire to collaborate

Demonstrable commitment to the Trust’s vision and mission
