The Role

Westbourne House gives children the opportunity to take part in a world of experiences. We are situated just to the East of Chichester in beautiful grounds of over 100 acres. There are approximately 350 boys and girls, aged 2½ -13.

We are looking to appoint a Gap Student to support the smooth running of the Westbourne timetable. This will include working within the boarding team to help create a welcoming environment for our boarding pupils, as well as assisting across the school curriculum during the day. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain work experience and would be an ideal role for somebody who is considering a career in education.

The boarding aspect of the role will require you to be involved in the boarders wake up and bed time routines, as well as boarding activities. During the day, you will be involved in all aspects of the school day, including supporting teachers in the classroom and on the sports field, as well as administrative tasks.

You will need to be flexible and adaptable to the changing needs of each individual child. Usual hours of work are in line with the school day and also require evening and weekend work.

This is a live-in role. Accommodation will be provided and living expenses covered.

Boarding responsibilities will be in the girls’ boarding house and therefore this role is available to female applicants.

You will be available to start as soon as possible and the role is for a fixed term period until 17th December 2021.
