The Propulsion Engineering Centre within the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing (SATM), runs a large international activity embracing applied research, industrial short courses and leading MSc and PhD programmes. It enjoys global visibility and extensive links with industry. Its interests encompass novel cycles, gas turbine simulation and engine performance diagnostics. Continuing success and growth in the Centrehas created an exciting opportunity in Gas Turbine Performance. The Centre also benefits from the use of industrial scale facilities that are deployed to carry out unique experimental work.
Applications are invited from motivated individuals with an intimate knowledge of gas turbine engines for aerospace and industrial/marine applications. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a topic relevant to gas turbines, and will be very familiar with advanced Gas Turbine Performance and Modelling.
The appointee will work very closely with the existing team of the Propulsion Engineering Centre and will make a contribution to related research, teaching and student supervision activities within the Centre. Some industrial experience will be helpful.
