About You:

We want someone who is passionate about Geography and how they can harness this into building on pupils’ problem solving, communication, negotiation, leadership and decision making skills. We expect that, through leading your effective teaching and learning, all pupils will be inspired to achieve the outstanding progress that we know they are capable of.

We want someone who can, through leading effective teaching and learning, ensure all pupils will be inspired to achieve the outstanding progress that we know they are capable of.

You must be thoroughly dedicated and committed to driving standards and raising achievement through the delivery of outstanding lessons. We encourage both NQTs and experienced Teachers to apply. Part-time applications will be considered for this role.

About Us

We are part of the Greenwood Academies Trust (GAT) and are one of the largest 3-19 schools in the country, with our own nursery, primary, secondary and sixth form provision.

Our academy has three sites and is led by three Heads of School in conjunction with the Lead Principal, Ged Rae. With new and refurbished buildings, our academy offers pupils and staff an outstanding learning environment. Our most recent Ofsted in November 2015 judged us consistently ‘Good’ and commented that despite its increasing size, it feels calm and orderly and has an atmosphere focused on learning.

In Return

You can be assured that you will be joining a successful Multi Academy Trust that has a great track record in helping children to succeed no matter what their background. The Trust is dedicated to valuing and developing the workforce whether that be through ensuring a fair workload or offering access to bespoke CPD from the Learning Alliance to enhance professional growth.

For NQTs looking to join the Trust, you can be assured that we will invest in developing your practice to ensure you succeed. All NQTs are required to attend the NQT development programme where you will be taken through a range of core areas of professional development including induction and training days where all the NQTs from the Trust are brought together. This training doesn’t stop at NQTs as the Learning Alliance also offers programmes for Teachers looking to develop techniques and strategies to improve classroom practice.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed; please contact Alison Mason, PA to the Head of School on 0115 748 3380 or email: adming@nottinghamacademy.org to arrange a mutually convenient appointment.
