Graduate Assistant with expertise in Sport

This role gives the opportunity for a recent graduate to gain a wide experience of working in a school environment and it is likely to be of interest to those who are considering a move into a teaching career.

The main duties will be to support activities and assist the teaching programme by working closely with pupils. 

Both candidates will be expected to be fully involved in the activities and evening routine of a busy boarding school.

Aldenham School is an independent, mixed day and boarding school for pupils aged 3 to 18. The school was established in 1597 and still sits on the same site.

The governing body of the school includes representatives from local bodies including the Brewer’s Company and the Diocese of St Albans. It is operated by the Aldenham School Charity, and has 800 pupils.

“The overall achievement of pupils throughout the school is excellent. Pupils develop well in knowledge, skills and understanding across all subject areas and some achieve excellent standards, particularly in the EYFS, the prep school and the sixth form.”

“Senior school pupils achieve at outstanding levels in activities. Pupils make good progress, and some, including those pupils with SEND or EAL make rapid progress although that of the gifted and talented is not as marked when teaching provides insufficient challenge.”
