Ark Conway Primary Academy aims to inspire a culture of success, in which excellence is recognised and celebrated by all. Every pupil will leave the academy with a love of learning and will be well prepared for the transition to secondary school.

Ark Conway has had the country’s best key stage 1 results and a 100% phonics check pass rate two years running. We couldn’t have achieved its incredible results without outstanding teachers who are well supported, so the school has prioritised giving each and every staff members the tools they need to excel.

The school’s successful co-teacher programme has seen outstanding graduates prepare for a career in teaching by spending a year working alongside teachers, before joining the Ark Teacher Training programme. New teachers at the school are introduced to the ‘Conway lesson’, which gives an invaluable combination of behavioural strategies and teaching techniques which are applied throughout the school. Pupil behaviour and engagement in learning is excellent, giving teachers more time to focus on teaching.

We want school to be enjoyable for our pupils and teachers. Pupils should be able to learn, appreciate their lessons, make friends and be enthusiastic about school. We encourage exemplary behaviour and stress the importance of a safe and inspiring environment. We have therefore put together strict behaviour and safeguarding policies.

Curriculum

Ark Conway Primary Academy is committed to providing a curriculum that inspires and excites our pupils to achieve excellence and motivates them to succeed. Ark Conway Primary Academy holds two specialisms: Mathematics and Performing Arts

Mastery of mathematics is essential in every sphere of life, so we invest in resources to train the best teachers and offer a wide range of resources. We are pioneering methods and systems for teaching from Singapore Mathematics with the aim to produce confident and expert mathematicians from a very young age.

At Ark Conway Primary Academy we value the importance of the performing arts (drama, dance and music.) Pupils will receive lessons in drama, dance and music on a weekly basis and will develop skills that not only encourage and support academic growth but also develop important social skills and experiences at the same time.
