We have a number of exciting opportunities for new graduates available at Taunton Senior School, Taunton Preparatory School and our International Schools from September 2019.
These one year residential posts provide valuable support to our house students, sports, classroom learning and administration staff as well as an exciting and ideal opportunity for graduates considering a career in education in the UK or internationally to experience a year in the life of this energetic, forward-looking and outstanding School.
We are looking for candidates with a specialism in PE and Games specifically rugby, cricket and hockey for the next academic year. If you also have an interest in SEND you could also be working in our strong educational progress team delivering in class support in a range of subjects. There may also be opportunities to work with small groups and provide 1:1 support. The role will involve pastoral support, building self-esteem and enabling students who struggle to believe that they can achieve.
We aim to offer our GRA’s a memorable year working with lively and interesting students within a flourishing co-educational environment. The School will provide full board accommodation in an on-site boarding house or school accommodation during term time. You will also have access to a gym and swimming pool on site, and in this paid role you will also have opportunities for continuing professional development and training. Our GRA’s are assigned a mentor for their year who will provide advice on professional development and working with students both in the classroom and the boarding house.
This experience provides a platform for various career progressions paths; many of our GRA’s are accepted on Teacher Training courses and we have an excellent record in universities such as Exeter and Durham.
