Sandroyd School is seeking to appoint a Graduate Sports Teacher for September 2021 to assist with the coaching of girls’ games, specifically hockey, netball and cricket with expertise in at least one of these three sports. There is no requirement for a teaching qualification, but the candidates must be degree qualified in any discipline and an inspirational sports coach. The Graduate Sports Teacher will be offered an initial one or two year contract, if appropriate and desired, Sandroyd School will pay for and mentor the teacher through a teaching qualification.
The Graduate Sports teacher will work closely with the Head of Girls Games. They will deliver coaching sessions, be involved in team management, mentoring individuals as well as providing one on one coaching. In addition to this they will take roles with teams and in sports throughout the school year and may also be asked to assist with cover requirements during the day.
Under the line management of the Director of Sport, the Graduate Sports Teacher will be provided with appropriate training and mentoring and will gain valuable experience in administration, marketing and communications. There are opportunities for Graduates to assist in PE lessons, as well as potentially assist in teaching other subjects as appropriate to their qualifications and interests.
